Introduction
Text in English:
Two very distinctive personalities, but still father and son. Both experienced success.
Late in life, the father designed the first modern wind turbine. An achievement which enjoyed extended international recognition among wind power pioneers.
At a young age, the son – on behalf of Denmark – took part in the Allied struggle against Nazism. He returned after the war unharmed having fought as a British officer on the Italian front. He was awarded the Military Cross for gallentry.
And they both experienced adversities.
The father was overruled by the decision makers who deemed wind power obsolete despite his successful wind turbine work, and it was only long after his death that his work was recognized in the fight for a better climate. To this day, wind turbines are built according to largely his principles.
The son was to experience the “Jante Law” (the unofficial Danish law of envy and mistrust). The military expertise he gained through personal experience in the dangerous environment of the front line was not recognized nor disseminated when the Danish army had to be reconstructed after the war.
Still, they both lead long and happy lives reaching the age of 82 and 96 respectively.
This website is created – but not limited – in their memory. I hope that gradually it will be expanded with other “Juul Stories”.

Text in Danish:
Begge oplevede succes.
I en høj alder skabte faderen grundlaget for den moderne vindmølle. Hans resultater nød bred international anerkendelse blandt foregangsmænd inden for vindkraft.
